Assetto Corsa realistic car racing simulation game
Assetto Corsa is a racing simulation game that attempts to offer a realistic driving experience with a variety of road and race cars through detailed physics and tyre simulation on race tracks recreated through laser-scanning technology. You have wet and dry tyres, tyre indicators and more… they warm up and thread out,…etc. the tyre simulation is extraordinary and it require skills from the player to play this game.
Developer Kunos Simulazioni has been developing Assetto Corsa since 2013, partnering with companies like Ferrari and Red Bull to offer the best driving simulation on the market. Tracks have been accurately recreated using lazer scanning and the cars are beautiful and detailed, down to the accurate modification available for the most dedicated players.
Assetto Corsa never really breaks the mold of modern racing games, choosing instead to focus on realism and experience. In its 2015 review of the PC version British automobile magazine Evo highlights Assetto Corsa’s physics, writing “Some aspects that other games barely touch on, such as tyre deformation and accurate friction models, are impressively accurate”, and concludes: “What Assetto Corsa neatly demonstrates is the variety available in the racing simulation game market, and also developers’ different interpretations of the term ‘simulation’.
Assetto Corsa features a decent mix of cars (ranging from classic open-wheelers to bleeding-edge hypercars) and a modest selection of European tracks. Among the xbox one and ps4 racing games, Assetto Corsa distinguish itself with its realism and attention to details.
Assetto Corsa is designed to simulate track driving and racing, and for driving simulation you really need a wheel and pedals setup or you’re going to have a pretty bad time. Over the years, I have spent some time with sim racing games on consoles, including GT5, GT6, Drive Club, the Crew, Project Cars, Dirt Rally, and now with Assetto Corsa, (which I shall refer to as A/C). Xbox One games and PS4 games were never so realistic. Asetto Corsa is a different thing.
It had a sense of achievement as you build up your garage, starting from a below par car right up to a beast of a machine where you’d fly through the races, leaving everyone to just watch you pass them by. Assetto Corsa aims to be the next big thing in terms of driving simulation, and had got a very good reception.
