Onrush bills itself as a racer; it’s filled with two- and four-wheeled vehicles driving fast, and it’s even developed by Codemasters — a racing game outfit — and by several members of the former Evolution Studios, the guys that developed Driveclub, World Rally Championship, and Motorstorm.

The four game modes in Onrush ps4 and xbox one are Overdrive, where you need to maintain boost for as much time as possible; Switch, where you essentially have three lives and you cycle up through the different classes of vehicle, and the first team to lose all of those lives is out; Countdown, which has you driving through gates on the track to earn time for your team’s clock that is always counting down; and Lockdown, that is basically a king-of-the-hill mode that moves at 100 miles per hour.

It does a nice job of introducing you to everything touching the arcade racer without dragging on. I have in mind a lot of things, like the basic driving mechanics and boost, the importance of working with your teammates and taking down opponents, as well as smashing into ‘ Fodder ,’ which are smaller, bite-sized AI-controlled vehicles that provide an immediate burst of boost when crashed into. It is indeed a successful xbox one and ps4 racing game.

Codemasters Evo, as the team is officially called, were inspired by classic arcade racers, modern shooters and team sports mechanics when creating this system and it has led to the game’s focus on unique objective-based modes that offer depth through evolving gameplay and teamwork. Other games from Codemasters that are using the same AI are the F1 2019 Anniversary Edition and Dirt Rally 2.0 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

ONRUSH’s unique blend of action-driving and sensational fun is showcased across its four unique game modes , which are deployed in both the single-player and online multiplayer. The result of that consolidation is ONRUSH — a stylish, frantic and unique arcade racer that distinguish itself between the ps4 and xbox one racing games by allowing players to experiment with different approaches to how they play and discover the possibilities for team-play with various tactical depth that underpins all the game’s fast-paced action.
