The Quarry (video game) Review
The Quarry is set in one such modern-day camp situated in the remote Hackett’s Quarry where after a wonderful summer, seven teens are making preparations to pack up and return home when their vehicle is damaged and they’re forced to stay for an additional night. Needless to say that their last-minute celebration turns into a bloody horror film, and you get to be involved in it. Yes, it’s your turn to decide the lives of those who live, who die, and how traumatized they are, so are you ready for this challenge?
The Quarry is basically a franchise of cutscenes where players can choose between branches from a variety of viewpoints of characters and enjoy a movie-like atmosphere/experience. Supermassive (the developers of this horror video game) offers players the ability to alter the narrative but not enough to end the whole thing, the result of years of experience working on other projects (like Until Down). It is a skill that makes them famous, offering players enough freedom to play how they see fit but without altering too much the main story.
Let me give you an example to clear this up: one Counselor, Jacob, decides to destroy the van that was parked out of Hackett’s Quarry so that he has one more chance to have a night when it is possible to woo Emma the aloof celebrity who is only seeking to have a summer affair. You cannot stop Jacob no matter what you choose because the game must go on; but you are able to choose whether to take the rotary arm or cut off the fuel lines, maybe minor choices but they build on each other and spin the tale through a tangled network of roads to keep it going. You can say the developers have a high-degree of experience and they storytelling is awesomely balanced.
The Quarry may be seen from various viewpoints and no matter your perspective, you have to agree that it is a rather incredible survival horror video game. It has also a great cast that brings to life the brutal story of The Quarry. You will discover an unforgettable group of actors who take on the cheesy part and are portrayed by David Arquette, Ted Raimi, Miles Robbins, Evan Evagora Ariel Winter, Brenda Song, Halston Sage, and others. It plays like a movie, an impressive survival horror video game that should not be missed by the fans of the genre. Even if it was just recently lunched, we can safely say that it is among the best of its kind.
The Quarry is Supermassive Games’ latest horror game, an interactive experience that follows on the path of 2015’s shaky, yet adored Until Dawn, and the other games of the Dark Pictures Anthology. It is also a great game for those who want to experience for the first time an interactive drama video game, and there are many cheap game keys for your platform, so you can try it without regrets. The Quarry is a game that plays with horror themes and motifs more openly than the Dark Pictures Anthology. It also has the best and most realistic graphics of all the games mentioned. This is a true masterpiece of the genre. It is an interesting adventure that plays in multiple ways depending on your choices .Since Until Down, no other survival-horror video game come close to The Quarry. If you like this type of games, you cannot skip this one.
